Although you can buy most first aid tools on your various travels, it is still a good idea to have a first aid kit in your bag. You will be well-served to pack some essentials like bandages, soap, aspirin or other pain relievers, cold medicine, prescription medicine, etc. You never know where or when you will need these items, so it’s a safe bet to keep them with you just in case.

International travel can be quite fun. On the plane flight to your destination, bring along a phrase book and try to learn a few phrases in the language of the culture where you will be spending time. You do not have to be fluent in the language and many locals will be delighted that you tried to learn a little bit of their language. Do not be shy about mistakes. Most people will appreciate you tried to learn a little bit about their culture.

If you are staying in a country with a high crime rate, treat even your hotel room as suspect. Place a piece of furniture in front of the door to prevent midnight break-ins. Also check that that windows lock securely. You never know which hotel owners might get a kickback from local crime gangs.

Before you decide on a travel destination, make sure to read as many user reviews about the area as possible. Finding out what other travelers experienced can save you from staying in a decrepit hotel room, visiting a terrible attraction or eating a restaurant that it out of your budget.

Making long term travel plans can seem time consuming and frustrating. The best way to make sure you have all your ends tied before leaving is to make a check list of all that needs to be done. This will ensure that once you have left, you will not be left thinking you are missing something important.

Take sleeping pills if you need helping sleeping through a flight. It is often hard to get much rest on airplanes, given the cramped seating, machine noise and people milling about. You may want to consider bringing sleeping pills with you on your flight, in order to rest comfortably. Nonetheless, don’t take pills before takeoff. This could be bad for you in case the plane needs to return to the airport due to a problem.

When traveling with a bag that has to be checked, snap a digital photo of it. If it gets lost, the picture will help you describe the item to the airline. It is also important to take a clear shot of the baggage tag that the airline puts on your luggage. This gives you the routing information for the airline and will help them locate your bag quicker if it is misplaced.

    Being native to speaking English, one would think they would have got that
